The Clinical Dietitian will provide expert nutritional care to both inpatient and outpatient populations, focusing on the assessment, development, and implementation of individualized dietary plans. This role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient health and manage dietary-related conditions effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Assessment and Care:
- Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for inpatients and outpatients, including evaluating medical history, dietary habits, and nutritional needs.
- Develop and implement personalized dietary plans based on patient assessments and medical conditions.
- Provide dietary counseling and education to patients and their families to promote healthy eating and manage chronic conditions.
- Inpatient Care:
- Collaborate with medical and nursing staff to ensure that dietary plans are integrated into overall patient care for hospitalized individuals.
- Monitor and evaluate the nutritional status of inpatients, adjusting dietary plans as needed based on their medical progress and response to treatment.
- Outpatient Care:
- Provide one-on-one counseling for outpatient clients, addressing dietary concerns, chronic disease management, and weight management.
- Develop and deliver educational programs and workshops on nutrition and healthy eating habits for community groups and individuals.
- Nutritional Education and Support:
- Educate patients on nutritional principles, meal planning, and the management of specific health conditions through diet.
- Stay current with advancements in nutrition science and integrate evidence-based practices into dietary recommendations.
- Documentation and Compliance:
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient assessments, dietary plans, and progress notes.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards in the UAE, including maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical guidelines.
- Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Work closely with healthcare providers, including physicians, nurses, and other specialists, to provide comprehensive care.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care plans and progress.
- Research and Development:
- Engage in continuous professional development through training and education to stay updated with the latest nutritional research and guidelines.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of nutrition-related protocols and policies.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Experience:
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Clinical Dietitian, with experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Licensure:
- Must hold or be eligible for licensure to practice as Clinical dietitian in the UAE.
