Job Summary:

The Specialist Endocrinologist will be responsible for providing comprehensive care for patients with endocrine and metabolic disorders. This includes diagnosing, treating, and managing conditions related to glands, hormones, and metabolic issues, in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The role involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care and Diagnosis

  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of endocrine disorders such as diabetes, thyroid diseases, adrenal disorders, and pituitary gland conditions.
  • Conduct patient evaluations, including taking thorough medical histories, performing physical exams, and ordering relevant diagnostic tests.
  • Interpret lab results, hormone levels, imaging studies, and other diagnostic tools to establish accurate diagnoses.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans that may include medication management, lifestyle changes, or referral to surgical specialists when necessary.

Diabetes Management

  • Provide comprehensive care for patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes, including insulin therapy, glucose monitoring, and complication management.
  • Educate patients on proper nutrition, exercise, and self-management practices to improve diabetes outcomes.
  • Collaborate with dietitians, diabetes educators, and other healthcare providers to optimize treatment plans.

Thyroid and Parathyroid Disorders

  • Manage and treat patients with thyroid diseases.

Bone and Mineral Metabolism

  • Diagnose and manage osteoporosis, and other metabolic bone diseases.
  • Monitor and adjust treatment plans for patients on long-term therapies.

Patient Education and Counseling

  • Educate patients about their conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures to manage their health effectively.
  • Provide guidance on lifestyle modifications, diet, and exercise as part of a comprehensive treatment plan.

Multidisciplinary Collaboration

  • Work closely with a team of specialists, including primary care providers, surgeons, cardiologists, and dietitians to ensure coordinated care.
  • Participate in case reviews and discussions as part of a multidisciplinary team approach to patient management.

Research and Continuous Learning

  • Stay current with the latest research, treatment trends, and advancements in the field of endocrinology.
  • Participate in continuing medical education (CME) activities.

Qualifications:

  • License: Valid medical license to practice endocrinology in the UAE.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in diagnosing and managing endocrine disorders (preferred).
