Nurse Educator is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs for nursing staff. The role ensures that nurses maintain clinical competence, comply with healthcare regulations, and deliver high-quality patient care. The Nurse Educator supports professional development, orientation programs, competency assessments, and continuous learning initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver orientation programs for newly hired nursing staff.
- Plan, coordinate, and conduct clinical training sessions, workshops, and continuing education programs.
- Assess the learning needs of nursing staff and design appropriate educational interventions.
- Monitor and evaluate staff competency through assessments, observations, and skills validation.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
- Develop educational materials, guidelines, and clinical competency checklists.
- Support evidence-based nursing practice and promote quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional guidance to nurses and healthcare staff.
- Maintain records of training activities, certifications, and competency assessments.
- Participate in policy development and clinical practice improvements.
- Collaborate with department managers to identify training needs and enhance staff performance.
- Stay updated with current nursing practices, healthcare trends, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (Master's Degree in Nursing Education is preferred).
- Valid DOH/DHA/MOH nursing license or eligibility.
- Certification in Nursing Education is an advantage.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ACLS preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience.
- At least 1–2 years of experience in staff education, clinical training, or nursing instruction preferred.
- Experience in hospital, rehabilitation, psychiatric, or healthcare settings is an advantage.
