Job Summary

The  Ophthalmologist is responsible for providing comprehensive medical and surgical eye care services, diagnosing and treating diseases and disorders of the eye, performing ophthalmic procedures, and ensuring high-quality patient care in accordance with DOH regulations, hospital policies, and international clinical standards.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive eye examinations using specialized ophthalmic equipment.
  • Diagnose and manage disorders affecting the eyes and visual system.
  • Treat conditions including:
    • Cataracts
    • Glaucoma
    • Diabetic Retinopathy
    • Macular Degeneration
    • Dry Eye Disease
    • Refractive Errors
    • Corneal Diseases
    • Retinal Disorders
    • Ocular Trauma
    • Conjunctivitis and other eye infections
  • Prescribe medications, corrective lenses, and treatment plans.
  • Perform ophthalmic surgical procedures within the approved clinical privileges.
  • Manage emergency ophthalmology cases.
  • Provide pre-operative and post-operative care.
  • Refer patients to other specialties when required.
