Job Summary
The Ophthalmologist is responsible for providing comprehensive medical and surgical eye care services, diagnosing and treating diseases and disorders of the eye, performing ophthalmic procedures, and ensuring high-quality patient care in accordance with DOH regulations, hospital policies, and international clinical standards.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Duties
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations using specialized ophthalmic equipment.
- Diagnose and manage disorders affecting the eyes and visual system.
- Treat conditions including:
- Cataracts
- Glaucoma
- Diabetic Retinopathy
- Macular Degeneration
- Dry Eye Disease
- Refractive Errors
- Corneal Diseases
- Retinal Disorders
- Ocular Trauma
- Conjunctivitis and other eye infections
- Prescribe medications, corrective lenses, and treatment plans.
- Perform ophthalmic surgical procedures within the approved clinical privileges.
- Manage emergency ophthalmology cases.
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative care.
- Refer patients to other specialties when required.
