Job Summary

The Absher is responsible for providing exceptional patient and visitor support services throughout the healthcare facility. The role serves as a welcoming ambassador for the organization, assisting patients, families, and visitors with navigation, appointments, registration processes, and general inquiries while ensuring a positive patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients, visitors, and guests in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Assist patients with wayfinding and escort them to clinics, departments, diagnostic areas, and other hospital locations as required.
  • Support patients during registration, appointment scheduling, and check-in/check-out processes.
  • Provide information regarding hospital services, facilities, visiting hours, and organizational policies.
  • Assist elderly patients, people of determination, and patients requiring special support.
  • Coordinate with reception, nursing, clinical, and administrative teams to facilitate smooth patient flow.
  • Respond promptly to patient and visitor inquiries and resolve concerns within the scope of responsibility.
  • Ensure wheelchairs and other patient-assistance equipment are available and maintained in designated areas.
  • Monitor waiting areas and assist in maintaining a comfortable and welcoming environment.
  • Support patient experience initiatives and service excellence programs.
  • Report patient complaints, incidents, or service issues to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Adhere to hospital policies, infection prevention protocols, and safety regulations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor or management.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, healthcare support, or patient services is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with healthcare environments are advantageous.
