The Pharmacy Manager oversees the daily operations of the pharmacy department to ensure the safe, effective, and efficient delivery of pharmaceutical services. This role ensures compliance with all regulatory and institutional policies, manages pharmacy staff, and collaborates with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate all pharmacy operations, including drug procurement, storage, dispensing, and clinical services.
- Manage, schedule, and evaluate pharmacy staff performance; provide training and development.
- Monitor and manage pharmacy budget, inventory levels, and cost-effective medication use.
- Work collaboratively with medical and nursing staff to implement evidence-based medication practices.
- Oversee medication safety programs and adverse drug event reporting.
- Develop and enforce policies and procedures to improve efficiency and patient care.
- Implement and maintain automated systems and technology for drug distribution and documentation.
- Participate in clinical initiatives such as antibiotic stewardship, formulary management, and patient education.
- Prepare reports and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor’s in Pharmacy (BPharm) required.
Experience: Minimum of 7 years in pharmacy practice, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
